Radical Rhythm are the virtuoso band creating a rich array of vibrant sounds; hot and ‘sassy’ jazz, smooth and sensuous Latin or bold and bright ‘big-band’ swing.
Radical Rhythm are small enough to fit into most venues, yet playing styles of music normally associated with larger bands; they offer a unique repertoire for everyone. They even have the facility to play acoustically if the venue bans electrical amplification (but there must be a ‘real’ piano available for us to use and vocals will be limited to roaring 1920’s).
Parties & Celebrations:
This package offers clients a broad range of music that will keep the guests entertained, regardless of their age. By mixing informal and formal dance styles and jazz, they can tailor the programme according to the client’s requirements (such as Tango, Salsa etc).
Roaring 1920’s & Art Deco 1930’s:
Radical Rhythm specialise in performing party music from the 1920’s & 1930’s in as ‘authentic’ manner as possible. The essential sound, style and flavour of the 1920’s & 1930’s is preserved. Electrical amplification is kept to a minimum with the Tuba being part of the presentation.
Ballroom, Lating American & Social Dancing:
Put on your shoes for the ‘Strict Temp’ programme! These performances are for Ballroom & Latin-American dance enthusiasts. Radical Rhythm play a balanced programme featuring Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Quickstep, Cha-cha-cha, Jive, Rumba and Samba. Paso Dobles and Viennese Waltzes are available for special requests.
Wedding Ceremonies, Drinks Receptions & Dining:
Walking down the aisle is probably the biggest entrance you’ll ever have to make. Royal brides are traditionally swept along by the glorious sound of trumpets and you can achieve a similar effect by gliding down the aisle to a 4-piece ensemble. The majestic sounds will thrill you and impress your guests, but will not over power the proceedings.
After the marriage ceremony the quartet can switch musical styles and perform jazz and popular tunes during the wedding photography, or whilst the guests sip champagne. Background music for dining can also be performed.
Band Info & Requirements:
6- Piece Band (includes Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, Piano & Drums)
7- Piece Band: As above but with guest female vocalist (not Roaring 20’s theme).
Quartet: (includes saxophone (doubling clarinet), Trombone, Trumpet, Tuba (doubling bass keyboard if required))>
Duo & Solo Pianist available as well.
Dress Code:
- White or Black Dinner Jackets with waistcoats & bow tie
- Black open necked shirts & black trousers
- Lounge suits
Performance Time: Three hours (includes refreshment breaks). Generally play 3 x 45 minute sets. Duo’s and Solo are a maximum of 2 hours.
PA System: They use a quality PA system for vocals and flute and larger venues.
Lighting: They supply discreet disco lighting and music stand lights so the house lights can be dimmed.
Space Required: Minimum 4.5m wide by 4m deep (5.5m wide for 7-piece band).
Set Up Time: 6 or 7 piece band 1 hour minimum.
Power Requirements: Minimum one 240v/13A domestic power supply output.
Catering: The Band require refreshments to be supplied by the booking client.
Noise Levels: Radical Rhythm is essentially an acoustic band. The volume of sound they make is never overpowering.
Geographical Areas Covered: Radical Rhythm are based in Oxfordshire but can visit venues in Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Northamptonshire, Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire, London, Hertfordshire etc.
Costs: The costs/fees depend on the venue/location/date and time but roughly the fees would be around the following:
- Solo Piano: £180 +
- Wedding Duo: £300 +
- Quartet (2 hours): £600 +
- Quartet: (3 hours): £800 +
- 6 -Piece Band: £1400 +
- 7 -Piece Band: £1600 +
