Marrakesh Express are a very talented vocal duo that are making great waves in the Bedfordshire region.
Marrakesh Express offer great variety from the 1960’s of Dusty Springfield, Little Richard, The Beatles, The Kinks, Shadows, Martha & The Vandellas, Shirelles, Drifters etc., to the hits of 1970’s, 80’s & 90’s, Carpenters, Cher, The Bangles, Sade, Blondie, Chic, Ace of Bass, and right up to present days hits of the Corrs, Anastacia, Shania Twain, K.T Tunstall, Gwen Stafani and many others.......
Vocalist Jenny Martin is heavily influenced by Shania Twain, Cher, Bonnie Rait, Karen Carpenter and Dusty Stringfield. Her interpretations of “Rainy Days & Mondays” and “Still the One” are second to none, and yet she is just as happy belting out classic dance numbers such as “Le Freak” or “I’m Outa Love” amongst others...........
Guitarist and vocalist Rod Allen has worked with many established artistes over the years including Joe Brown, Mike Berry, Peter Sarstedt, Carl Douglas, Ritchie Blackmore and many others. His guitar work is a major part of the Marrakesh Express sound....
Marrakesh Express have been performing for over 10 years, and have appeared at London’s Dorchester, Savoy, Four Seasons, Portman, and Hilton hotels, as well as the Cafe de Paris and Cliveden House. Their notable clients include the Coldstream Guards, Penguin Books, Relate, the Welsh Guards, the Thames Motor Yacht Club, Halstan Printing Company and Mecca Leisure.
